Box 1768 Newport Beach, CA 92658-8915 Re: Request for Address Change at 317 Heliotrope Avenue, Corona Del Mar Dear Ms. Marrelli: The purpose of this letter is to request an address change at 317 Heliotrope Avenue, Corona Del Mar, 92625. My husband, Scott, and I closed escrow on this property on November 13, 2001. The property is a duplex, with the units configured as an upstairs and downstairs. According to the prior owners, Al and Laura Amster, they owned the property for approximately 25 years. The first 20 years were spent living upstairs, at the primary residence, which had the address of 317. (The downstairs had the address of 317 %.) However, due to health problems, they chose to move downstairs about five years ago. At that time, according to them, they submitted a request through the City of Newport Beach to switch the two addresses so they could keep the address they had been using for so long, 317. Consequently, the downstairs unit is now officially 317, while the primary residence, which is upstairs, is 317 %. We will be moving into the primary residence and renting out the downstairs unit. We are requesting that the address be switched back to the original address configuration, which provided the upstairs with the 317 address, and the downstairs with the 317 '/z address. I can be reached on my cell phone at (949) 290-8121. Our home phone number is (714) 994-4720. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Sincerely, A& A4Y;& Shelli L. Marrelli Assistant Planner, Planning Department CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH 3300 Newport Boulevard Newport Beach, California 92658-8915 Ref: Request For Address Change Dear Ms. Marrelli: September 24, 2001 The purpose of this letter is to request an address change for the newly relocated Fritz Duda Company offices located within Via Lido Plaza. It was originally thought that the address assigned (albeit incorrectly) to the 3435 Via Lido premises located above the Pavilions grocery store was 3425 Via Lido. It was brought to our attention on Friday, September 21, 2001 by the Postmaster that this suite was indeed 3435 and not 3425, as we had originally thought it to be. As we will be relocating our offices to this suite later this week, we have printed new letterhead, business cards, and other stationery using the 3425 address. This address was also used as a secondary company location in the letterhead, business cards, brochures, etc. of our corporate office located in Dallas, Texas. Therefore, we are kindly requesting that the City of Newport Beach reassign the address for this suite number to 3425 Via Lido. We are also requesting your expeditious consideration as we are holding using allnew stationery as well as sending address change notification to all our customers, vendors, and clients until we have this matter resolved. I have enclosed a site plan of the shopping center depicting the location of this suite within Via Lido Plaza. For your information, addresses currently assigned to Via Lido Plaza range from 3415 to 3475 Via Lido. The address of "3425" does not appear to have been assigned to any business located on Via Lido. Your expedient reply will be most appreciated and the Fritz Duda Company thanks you for your consideration to our request. Sincerely, On behalf of FRITZ DUDA COMPANY jyobn E. I have some questions regarding the new structures being built at 315 and 319 Canal Street. There was a hearing by the Coastal Commission, but there was no hearing posted for Newport Beach Planning. There was a problem with the Coastal Commission posting, so I was relieved when the Coastal Commission sent a letter to each resident asking for feedback. I was waiting for the Newport Beach Planning Dept hearing, so 1 was surprised that a permit was Issued before community feedback. Can you help me understand why a hearing was not posted or held? My concern is the rumors that i have heard about the structures, since there was no hearing, I could not confirm if the rumors were true or false. Rumor 1) the structures will be identical - if this is true, it will have a negative impact on our community as no two homes side by side are identical in our association. Architectural diversity is one of the strengths of our neighborhood. Rumor 2) the structure will be taller than all other homes - if this is true, where is height determined from, because the property is waterfront will height be based on mean tide? Rumor 3) the two structures will share a common walkway and have no fence between them, they will also not comply with normal spacing of buildings - isthis true? With the digging already started, I would feel better if I understood the truth about the 'structures. I do not like to rely on rumor. I look forward to your information. 1;?-10 Kindest regards, q 7j % Everette Phillips fr 300 Canal St. Newport Beach, CA V June 25, 2001 To: GIS Department Fire Department Police Department From: Marina Marrelli Planning Department Re: Address Change From 223 Marigold Ave to 3321 Seaview Ave. to 223 Marigold The Postal Service contacted me re their confusion about where to deliver mail on this property. The 1976 letter asked that the official address of the single family home be changed from 223 Marigold Avenue to 3321 Seaview Avenue since the entrance to the home faces Seaview. It is our policy to approve such requests because having the address correspond to the primary entrance of the dwelling unit aids in emergency responses. After the address change has been approved, we advise the homeowner to notify all affected agencies such as utilities, U. S. Postal Service, etc. I do not know whether Ms. Ong complied. Recently the U. S. Postal Service called our offices to determine the official address of your property because there was some confusion. Since yours is a single family home and since we had a request from the homeowner to change the address, we recognize that the official address is 3321 Seaview Avenue. If you have any questions, please call me at (949) 644-3205. Sincerely, PATRICIA TEMPLE Planning Director By: Marina E. In checking our files, it appears that this is a single-family dwelling. The home was rebuilt in 1976 with the front door facing Seaview. The homeowner at the time requested and was granted an address change to 3321 Seaview Avenue. I have attached my letter to Bonnie Duckworth explaining all of this and our reasoning for keeping the address 3321 Seaview. This current homeowner said she was never informed about the address being anything but 223 Marigold Avenue. She said all of her bills come to that address including City water billing. She wants the address to be 223 Marigold Avenue. I informed her that I would check with your departments to see whether or not we could grant her request. Please let me know your thoughts on this. Many thanks. L._ ,r. CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH P.O. BOX 1768, NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92658,8915 June 19, 2001 Ms. Bonnie Duckworth 3321 Seaview Avenue Corona del Mar, California 92625 Dear Ms. Duckworth: In response to your telephone voice mail message about your address, I found an address change request from the previous owner, Ms. Karen Ong.
