The parcel number is 052-142-10, which is 2 legal lots(lots 11 and 13 of the resub of Corona del Mar blk 141). I am planning on building on lot 13 only at this time, and will sell lot 11 at a later date. The previous owner had I house on both lots, and therefore had only 1 postal address(215 Orchid Ave). I would like to apply for a new postal address for lot 13. I would assume it would be 217 Orchid, as the next door address is 219 Orchid Ave. Lot 11 would remain the 215 Orchid address. I would also like to address the fact that since I am building on lot 13 only(a 30' wide parcel), the side setbacks would be 3' as is standard for a 30' wide lot, and not the required 4' for a 60' wide lot(the combination of lots 11 and 13 were 60' wide) Please advise if I need to do anything other than this letter to do this. I am enclosing a copy of my letter to the county assessor requesting the new parcel number. They have told me to expect a new parcel number on my 2002 property tax bill. We are requesting a change to 1600 Santanella Terrace. While going through the modification process the building department informed me the front of my house is on Santanella. The entrance and front door face Santanella Terrace. The neighbors to the right and left of our entrance are on Santanella Terrace. The houses on my block (NE & NW) are on Bonnie Doone or Santanella Terrace. It only seems logical to change the address for simplification purposes, which will allow friends, family and neighbors to find our home with out driving past it. In the process of changing over the utilities into our name, I discovered that all of the Utility Companies possess the address of 726 Santana Drive for this property. They have no record of 724 Santana Drive existing. In addition, the curb in front of the property is incorrectly painted as 726 instead of 724. The current owner never bothered to correct the situation because she has been getting her mail at this location for over 20 years and didn't really have a problem with it. However, my husband and I prefer to correct it and want to make sure that the property address is correct with all appropriate parties. I have two dilemmas: 1. We'll need to have the curb in front of the house repainted. Who is responsible for doing this? Does the city paint the curbs? Is there a private company responsible? If so, do you know who I can call? We will be putting the correct address on the house, but I'm not quite sure how to go about fixing the curb. 2. The only way the Utility Companies will change the address in their system is if they receive a request from the City of Newport Beach. They will not take my word for it.
