Re:Agenda Item No. IV(d) – Arts and Cultural/Historical Resources
Subcommittee Review of the Revised Report
________________________________________________________________
This morning, City staff received confirmation from the Subcommittee ChairGreer that the Arts and Cultural/Historical Resources Subcommittee hadreviewed the revised Arts and Cultural Existing Conditions and BackgroundAnalysis report that was distributed as part of the GPAC’s agenda packet.
Although the Subcommittee generally supports the revised report, its members
request the following additional changes and/or GPAC input prior to finalizing:
•Remove the reference to an “arts center” on pages 22 (Section 5.2.5), 28(Section 7.2.5), and 29 (Section 7.2.7) since the City is currently
constructing the Witte Lecture Hall at the Central Library;
•Request GPAC support to maintain the Arts and Cultural Element as itsown standalone element in the General Plan;
•Revise recommendation on page 16 to include a staff member or
consultant to write grants.
The Subcommittee requests that the GPAC receive and file the report along withany further identified revisions resulting from the discussion items above, as well
as any that result from the GPAC's discussion tomorrow evening.
