NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on June 13, 2023, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, introduced an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2023-10
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH,
CALIFORNIA, AMENDING TITLE 20 (PLANNING AND ZONING) OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH THE SPECIAL FLOOD HAZARD (VE) OVERLAY
DISTRICT (PA2018-075)
The Ordinance would amend Newport Beach Municipal Code Title 20 (Planning and
Zoning) to establish a new Special Flood Hazard (VE) Overlay District. The VE Overlay District
would modify design standards for new residential development for properties designated by the
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) as being in the VE Special Flood Hazard Area
(VE Zone).
This Ordinance was introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 131h day of June, 2023, by the following vote:
AYES: Mayor Noah Blom, Mayor Pro Tern Will O'Neill, Council Member Brad Avery,
Council Member Robyn Grant, Council Member Lauren Kleiman, Council
Member Joe Stapleton, Council Member Erik Weigand
NAYS: None
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2023-10 will occur at the June 27, 2023 City Council
meeting. If adopted on June 27, 2023, the Ordinance shall become final and effective thirty (30)
days after adoption.
