HomeMy WebLinkAbout00 - On the AgendaOn the Agenda: May 14 City Council Meeting
The next City Council meeting is
Tuesday, May 14. Items of interest
are highlighted below. The entire
agenda and reports can be viewed
here.
The regular meeting will begin at 6
p.m. Agenda items include:
A license agreement with
Aqua Superpower (USA), Inc. to
install, maintain and operate electric
watercraft charging equipment at the
Marina Park docks. The charging
equipment would be open to the public. Under the proposal, Aqua would pay the
City $3,000 a year and a percentage of the profits for an initial term of 8 years.
Review and approval of a floor plan and architectural design for the replacement of
the Balboa Branch Library and Fire Station No. 1 at 110 E. Balboa Blvd. The
Council review follows previous public meetings with the Board of Library Trustees
and Parks, Beaches, and Recreation Commission. Based on input from the
meetings, three floor plans and two architectural styles were refined. The Council
will review the plans and provide direction to staff. The branch library building
(originally built in 1929) and fire station (added in 1962) are aging, outdated and no
longer meet current needs. The replacement cost for the new facility is estimated at
about $16 million.
