OCC surf team andherd the position of Men's Soccer Coach, during which time the team won the colleges only two state
soccer championships in 1989 and 1991; and
`GI &MAM S, Laird worked as an NFL referee for 23 years, which included 3 Super Bowls punctuated by a stunningly
accurate calffora Mario 11anningham toe -tapping sideline catch; and
ti1�3fiE4�Ef7.S, LairdMayes was named Newport Beach Citizen of the Tear in 2023 thanks to his significant contributions
to the Newport Beach community; and
`GI L�E4 S, these contributions include: Newport Beach Farks and Recreation Commissioner, member of the General
Flan Citizens Advisory Committee; member of the Newport Beach ToCice Department volunteers; member of the Fire
Department Community Emergency Response Team; member of the city'sWater Quality and CoastaCTideCands Committee,
and other distinguished service positions; and
