U&ET,E,gS, patients depend on the more than 385,000 licensed N(Ts in the Vnited States to diagnose, manage and treat their
chronic andacute health care conditions; and
` &ET", N1r's provide high -quality primary, acute and specialty health care services while emphasizing health promotion,
disease prevention, health education and counseling, partnering with patients to improve their health; and
` &EIS, the confidence that patients have in N1P-delivered health care is evidenced by the more than 1 6iffion visits made
annually to NFs across the country; and
`61&M", more than five decades of research demonstrates the high quality of care provided 6y NFs; and
`G1dtE4S, better utilization of NFs through modernized state laws and improved policies creates better health through a more
accessible, efficient, cost-effective and higher -quality health care system; and
` P EW", more than half the nation - including 27 states, the District of Columbia, Guam and the Northern .Mariana Islands -
has adopted Ful[Tractice Authority legislation, offering patients full and direct access to the outstanding care provided by NFs;
and
`f MW", leading governmental and policy entities, including the NationalAcademy of Medicine, National Council of State
Boards of Nursing, National Governors Association and Federal2"rade Commission, have taken notice of the benefits of providing
patients fulland direct access to NR deCvered care; and
'6VJ WYJU, Ncl's serve as the provider of choice for many CALIFOXWY,4 RE.SIIDENIS andplay a pivotalrole in the health and
welfare of our communities.
