A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, SETTING THE TIME
AND DATES OF CITY COUNCIL REGULAR MEETINGS
FOR CALENDAR YEAR 2025
WHEREAS, Section 407 of the City of Newport Beach City Charter ("Section
407") directs that the City Council hold regular meetings at least twice each month except
in the months of August and December when there shall be at least one regular meeting
in August and one regular meeting in December;
WHEREAS, Section 407 directs that the times and dates of the regular meetings
of the City Council be set by ordinance or resolution;
WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 407, the City Council previously adopted
resolutions setting the regular meeting dates of the City Council to be held the second
and fourth Tuesdays of each month, except in August and December; and
WHEREAS, the City Council desires to set the regular meeting dates of the City
Council for calendar year 2025 to be held on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each
month, except that the meetings in November will be held the first and third Tuesdays in
order to avoid holding a meeting the week of Veteran's Day and the week of Thanksgiving,
and to set the single dates for the regular meetings held in August and December.
NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Newport Beach resolves as
follows..
Section 1: The City Council does hereby establish the following dates as the
schedule for regular meetings of the City Council for calendar year 2025:

Section 2: Pursuant to City Council Policy A-1 (City Council), regular meetings
shall begin at 4:00 p.m., or as otherwise scheduled due to the demand of business.
Section 3: The Mayor or a majority of the members of the City Council may call
emergency or special meetings on an as -needed basis in compliance with the Brown Act.
The regular meeting schedule may be revised by adoption of a resolution amending the
regular meeting schedule.
Section 4: The recitals provided in this resolution are true and correct and are
incorporated into the operative part of this resolution.
Section 5: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of this
resolution is, for any reason, held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not
affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining portions of this resolution. The City
Council hereby declares that it would have passed this resolution, and each section,
subsection, sentence, clause or phrase hereof, irrespective of the fact that any one or
more sections, subsections, sentences, clauses or phrases be declared invalid or
unconstitutional.
Section 6: The City Council finds the adoption of this resolution is not subject to
the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) (the
activity will not result in a direct or reasonably foreseeable indirect physical change in the
environment) and 15060(c)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378)
of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3,
because it has no potential for resulting in physical change to the environment, directly or
indirectly.

Section 7: This resolution shall take effect immediately upon its adoption by the
City Council, and the City Clerk shall certify the vote adopting the resolution.

No. 2024-93 was duly introduced before and adopted by the City Council of said City at a regular meeting
of said Council held on the loth day of December, 2024; and the same was so passed and adopted by the
