On the Agenda: February 25 City Council Meeting
The next meeting of the Newport Beach City Council will be on Tuesday, February 25 at 4 p.m. The full
agenda is available here.
Agenda items include:
• Consideration of a $2.1 million, 5-year agreement with BRINC Drones Inc., of Seattle, for public
safety drones.
• Confirmation of mayoral appointments to fill scheduled vacancies on the General Plan Update
Steering Committee (GPUSC) and the General Plan Advisory Committee (GPAC).
• Approval of an ordinance designating a portion of Corona del Mar as a safety enhancement zone
and expandingthe West Newport safety enhancement zone to include Memorial Day, Fourth of July
and Labor Day weekends. Safety enhancement zones carry increased fines for municipal code
violations such as loud and unruly gatherings.
• Consideration of a request by the Newport Beach Public Library Foundation to increase the size of
the LED screen planned for the Witte Lecture Hall now under construction.
• Appointment to fill an unscheduled vacancy on the City's Planning Commission.
