Dear Romeo Family,
On behalf of the Newport Beach Council and the entire community, I want to extend
our deepest condolences to you all during this time of sorrow. Our March 25 City
Council meeting will be adjourned in memory of Mary Kathryn Olewiler Romeo,
whose legacy touched so many lives in our community.
Mary's extraordinary life, from her early years in Santa Ana to her many years of
service and dedication in the Harbor View Hills and Newport Beach areas, is a
testament to her loving heart, tireless spirit, and devotion to family, friends, and
community, Her involvement with OASIS, the Philharmonic Society, and the local
garden club, among many other contributions, reflects the kind of person she was —
selfless, generous, and always there for others.
Her passing leaves a profound emptiness, but her influence will be felt for years to
come, especially through the family she so lovingly raised and the countless lives
she touched. As a wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, Mary's warmth, kindness,
and dedication were truly unmatched.
Please know that our thoughts are with you, and we share in your grief as you honor
her remarkable life. We hope that the cherished memories you have of Mary bring
you comfort during this difficult time,
With deepest sympathy,
