I want to extend my sincere thanks and appreciation for your outstanding
Erik Kenneth Weigand
presentation on the history of our city's lifeguards at the April 29 council meeting.
Your knowledge, passion, and professionalism were evident throughout, and you
truly brought the rich legacy of our lifeguard service to life.
Your ability to convey the evolution of our lifeguard program - from its early
beginnings to the respected institution it is today - resonated deeply with everyone in
attendance. It was a compelling reminder of the dedication, skill, and courage that
our lifeguards demonstrate every day to keep our community safe,
On behalf of the council and myself, thank you for your excellent work and for taking
the time to share this important piece of our city's history. Please extend our
gratitude to your team as well, whose continued service is a point of pride for our
city. We are fortunate to have had the opportunity to hear from you, and we
appreciate the opportunity to celebrate the Newport Beach Lifeguards as we
