On the Agenda: May 13 City Council Meeting
The next meeting of the Newport Beach City Council will be on Tuesday, May 13. A Study Session will begin at
4 p.m. followed by the Regular Meeting at 4:30 p.m. The full agenda is available here.
Agenda items include:
• Review and discussion of a potential expansion to the City trolley system. Staff will present a draft
concept to expand summer trolley service to Corona del Mar, Newport Center and Balboa Island for City
Council discussion and direction.
• Acceptance of a State grant to support the Marina Park Boating Program. This item would accept a
$46,000 grantfrom the State Division of Boating and Waterways for equipment and scholarships related
to sailing and boating safety education.
• A report on the status of City employee vacancies and retention efforts. This item complies with a recent
State law that requires public agencies to report on vacancies and recruitment efforts at least once
every fiscal year, prior to the adoption of the annual budget.
