significantly advanced cultural Cfe in California; and
UMM", as President and CEO of Arts Orange County ( Arts OC) for the past 17 years, Stein transformed the
organization into a trailblazer among nonprofit arts councils —serving as the region's leading advocate for the arts and
arts education while acting as a trustedconsultant to government, education, andnonprofit sectors; and
WiExw, Stein's leadership has been widely recognized including being awarded the Statewide Arts Advocacy
Champion Award from California Arts Advocates in 2025, the Entrepreneur in the Arts Lifetime Achievement Award
from (Pack Chorale in 2023, and Laguna Legend from the Laguna T/ayhouse in 2021, as well as being named 6y the
Orange County Register as one of OC's 100 9V ost Influential in 2020; and
4VM4ZM, before his tenure at Arts OC, Stein led the Laguna �rlayhouse for 17years as executive director, turning it
into a premier resident professional theatre, and Stein has also served in leadership or advisory roles with the National
Endowment for the Arts, (Western States Arts (Federation, and numerous local and state arts agencies across the united
States; and
9,9MXM, Rick Stein has had a formative role in the arts culture in the City of Newport Beach as CEO of Arts
OC working with the City Arts Commission for over a decade to curate the Sculpture Exhibition in Civic Center Bark and
%VXMMAS, in 9W ay of 2025, Governor Gavin Newsom appointedStein to the prestigious Calfornia Arts Council where
he willworkon a team of 11 members to establish policies andstrategies to strengthen arts, business, andcreative expression
in our communities.
