Dear John,
Thank you for joining us at last night's city council meeting and for your incredible
contribution to the presentation on surf culture in Newport Beach.
Your firsthand stories, thoughtful insights, and unmistakable sense of humor
reminded us all why the Wedge isn't just a surf break, it's a symbol of our city's
spirit. The nickname may be playful, but your knowledge and dedication are
anything but. You brought depth, heart, and authenticity to the conversation.
It's voices like yours that keep the culture of Newport alive - not just in the waves,
but in our hearts and civic life. We are grateful for your time and your passion.
Let's keep riding this momentum, on and off the water.
With sincere appreciation,
Joe Stapleton

Dear Tim,
On behalf of the Newport Beach City Council and our entire community, I want to
extend my heartfelt thanks for your presentation at last night's council meeting,
Your passion for surf culture and your deep connection to the Wedge came through
loud and clear. You brought more than just knowledge - you brought energy,
perspective, and the kind of insight that only someone who's spent years in and
around those waves could provide. It's clear why you've earned your nickname -
your delivery was fired up and unforgettable.
As we continue to celebrate and protect the unique coastal identity of Newport
Beach, your voice is essential. We're grateful for your time, your storytelling, and
your commitment to preserving the surf heritage that makes this city what it is.
Looking forward to more collaborations in the future. Keep the flame going.
With sincere appreciation,
Joe Stapleton
