Item III. PUBLIC COMMENTS ON NON-AGENDA ITEMS
Facing an alternative meeting opportunity on July 23rd at 5:00 p.m., whose notice includes a
promise of refreshments, I suspect I will not be attending the July 23rd GPUSC meeting in
person, so I offer these comments in writing:
1.I do not understand why the listing of GPUSC members at the top of the agenda fails to
inculcate the committee has a chair. I do not know if it has any other officers, but I
believe the newly-reappointed committee met on June 23rd and selected a chair.
2.Regarding that June 23, 2025, meeting, it is surprising the present agenda does not
include draft minutes from that meeting being submitted for approval. The most recent
Planning Commission meeting had a similar absence of draft minutes from their prior
meeting. This was attributed to the transcription service being unavailable. Is that the
problem here, too? Whatever the reason, I hope the minutes will appear eventually, as
they provide a very helpful guide to the video.
3.Speaking of minutes, I vaguely recall it was part of the Dudek contract that they would
attend GPUSC and GPAC meetings and prepare the minutes. Is that no longer part of
their function (I do not believe they attended the June 23rd meeting)?
4.Speaking of the present agenda, the request on the first page to “submit any written
comments no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday in order to give the Committee
adequate time to review your submission” suggests the committee members must be
very fast readers, given the meeting itself starts at that minute. I wish I shared that skill.
5.In non-agenda comments at the June 23rd meeting, I believe I pointed out a possible
need to update the GPUSC and GPAC pages on the City’s website. That need still
exists, including, at least, as to appointment and reappointment dates and what the
current enabling resolutions are.
