HomeMy WebLinkAbout21 - Adoption of the 2025 California Building Standards Codes, Fire Code and California Wildland-Urban Interface - Public Hearinga CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that, pursuant to California Government Code Section 50022.3, on Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., or soon thereafter as the matter shall be heard, a public hearing will be conducted in the Council Chambers at 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660. The City Council of the City of Newport Beach will consider the following application: Adoption of the 2025 California Building Standards Code (including: Building, Residential, Plumbing, Mechanical, Electrical, Green, Historical, the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code and Existing Building Codes) with Proposed Local Amendments; Adoption of Necessary Findings Substantiating such Proposed Local Amendments due to Local Climatic, Geographic, or Topographic Conditions. This adoption is being proposed pursuant to the authority of the City of Newport Beach to adopt the 2025 California Building Standards Code (California Code of Regulations Title. 24), with local amendments thereto, as found in California Health and Safety Code Sections 17922, 17958, 17958.5, 17958.7, 18935, and related sections. Adoption of the 2025 California Building Standards Codes including proposed local amendments is not subject to the California Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) (the activity will not result in a direct or reasonably indirect physical change In the environment) and 15060(c)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378) of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it has no potential for resulting in physical change to the environment, directly or indirectly. All interested parties may appear and present testimony in regard to this item. If you challenge this item in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you raised at the public hearing or in written correspondence delivered to the City, at, or prior to, the public hearing. The item may be continued to a specific future meeting date, and if such an action occurs, additional public notice of the continuance will not be provided.
