ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 23, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, will introduce an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-26
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER
6.25 (REGULATION OF SMOKING IN PUBLIC AREAS)
AND ADDING CHAPTER 6.30 (PROHIBITION OF SALE
AND DISTRIBUTION OF FLAVORED TOBACCO
PRODUCTS) TO TITLE 6 (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING
TO SMOKING AND TOBACCO SALES
Adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-26, which, if adopted, would add Chapter 6.30 to
the Newport Beach Municipal Code, 6.30 Prohibition of Sale and Distribution of Flavored
Tobacco Products in Newport Beach.
This Ordinance will be introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 23rd day of September, 2025.
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2025-26 will occur at the October 14, 2025, City Council
meeting. If adopted on October 14, 2025, the Ordinance shall become final and effective 30 days
after adoption.
