ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 23, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, will introduce an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-29
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADDING SECTION
11.04.085 (PROHIBITING THE USE OF ELECTRIC
BICYCLES AND SIMILAR DEVICES ON THE NEWPORT
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL PLAYGROUND) AND
AMENDING SECTION 11.04.130 (EXEMPTION) OF
CHAPTER 11.04 (PARKS, PARK FACILITIES, AND
BEACHES) OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
Adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-29 would add Section 11.04.085 (Prohibiting the
Use of Electric Bicycles and Similar Devices on the Newport Elementary School
Playground) and Amending Section 11.04.130 (Exemption) of Chapter 11.04 (Parks, Park
Facilities, and Beaches) of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
This Ordinance will be introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 23rd day of September, 2025.
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2025-29 will occur at the October 14, 2025, City Council
meeting. If adopted on October 14, 2025, the Ordinance shall become final and effective 30 days
after adoption.
