ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on September 23, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, will introduce an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-30
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING SECTION
2.12.110 OF CHAPTER 2.12 (ADMINISTRATIVE
DEPARTMENTS) OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE TO INCLUDE EDUCATION AND ENFORCEMENT
RELATED PROVISIONS AS A FUNCTION OF THE
RECREATION AND SENIOR SERVICES DEPARTMENT
Adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-30 would amend the Newport Beach Municipal
Code (NBMC) Chapter 2.12.110 adding enforcement of park and park facility related
provisions of the code as a function of the Recreation & Senior Services (RSS)
Department. This inclusion is necessary to apply for and execute a Management Control
Agreement (MCA) between Newport Beach Police Department (NBPD) and RSS
Department and authorize Park Patrol Officers (PPOs) use of the California Law
Enforcement Telecommunication System (CLETS).
This Ordinance will be introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 23rd day of September, 2025.
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2025-30 will occur at the October 14, 2025, City Council
meeting. If adopted on October 14, 2025, the Ordinance shall become final and effective 30 days
after adoption.
