NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FOR THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
RELOCATION PLAN FOR
301 EAST BALBOA BOULEVARD, NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92661
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., or soon thereafter as the matter shall be heard, a
public hearing will be conducted in the City Council Chambers at 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, and the City Council of the
City of Newport Beach will receive public comments and consider this matter.
RELOCATION PLAN FOR 301 EAST BALBOA BOULEVARD, NEWPORT BEACH, CA 92661 (RELOCATION PLAN) — The
City acquired the property located at 301 E. Balboa Boulevard, Newport Beach, CA 92661 (Property). The Property is currently
improved with a four-plex comprised of four residential rental units, two of which are tenant occupied. The City's future use of the
Property will require the demolition of the existing structure/units, which would cause the permanent displacement of the two
tenants who would be eligible for relocation benefits and assistance. The needs and characteristics of the tenants and the City's
program to provide assistance to each affected person are general subjects of this Relocation Plan. The proposed project is
anticipated to be financed through the City's general funds. The purpose of the Public Hearing is to allow the public the opportunity
to comment on the Relocation Plan.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that the review and approval of the Relocation Plan is not subject to the California
Environmental Quality Act ("CEQA") pursuant to Sections 15060(c)(2) (the activity will not result in a direct or reasonably
foreseeable indirect physical change in the environment) and 15060(c)(3) (the activity is not a project as defined in Section 15378)
of the CEQA Guidelines, California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Chapter 3, because it has no potential for resulting in physical
change to the environment, directly or indirectly.
NOTICE IS HEREBY FURTHER GIVEN that copies of the Relocation Plan will be available through September 23, 2025. The public
is invited to submit written comments on the document to the Community Development Department no later than 2:00 p.m. on
September 23, 2025. Written comments may be submitted to Lauren Wooding Whitlinger, Real Property Administrator, at 100 Civic
Center Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660, or by e-mail at Iwooding(o)newportbeachca.gov. Copies of the Relocation Plan will be
available for public review on the City's website at
