cancer death in the vnitedStates; and
`W.II 4M,$S, Pancreatic cancer is projected to become the second leading cause of cancer -related death in
the V.S. by 2030, behind lung cancer; and
`W.h[ 4MU, compared to other cancers, pancreatic cancer is relatively rare — coming in at number 12 for
the number of estimated new cases in 2025; and
`WJ�lE4��7.5, the earlier pancreatic cancer is caught, the better chance a person has of surviving five
years after being diagnosed; and
tiV'J�EWA S, the good health and well-being of the residents of Newport Beach are enhanced as a direct
result of increased awareness about pancreatic cancer and research into early detection, causes and
effective treatments.
