At our Council meeting last night, we adjourned in his memory, a small gesture to honor a man whose life left such a meaningful imprint on our city and on all who had the privilege of knowing him. Jeffs story is one of passion, faith, and service, from his early days growing up in Newport Beach to his remarkable achievements in sports, music, and business. His leadership on and off the field, his creative spirit, and his generosity toward others reflected the very best of our community's values. Whether through his work with local charities, his mentorship of young people, or the deep love he had for his family and friends, Jeff embodied kindness and purpose in all that he did. We are especially moved by the legacy he leaves through his family, his beloved wife Gerrette, and his sons Dominic, Dante, and Damien. His commitment to faith, family, and community continues through each of them, and through the many lives he touched. Please know that the thoughts and prayers of the Newport Beach City Council and our residents are with you during this difficult time. We share in your sorrow, and we also share in the gratitude for a life so well -lived.
