ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 14, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, adopted an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-27
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADDING CHAPTER 6.40
(PROHIBITION OF SALE, DISTRIBUTION, AND USE OF
NITROUS OXIDE) TO TITLE 6 (HEALTH AND SANITATION) OF
THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO
NITROUS OXIDE SALES
Adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-27 would add Chapter 6.40 to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code, Prohibition of Sale, Distribution and Use of Nitrous Oxide in Newport Beach.
Ordinance No. 2025-27 was approved by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Barto, Blom, Grant, Kleiman, Stapleton,
Weber and Weigand
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
RECUSED: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
The ordinance will become effective 30 days after adoption date. A copy of the above ordinance
is available at the City Clerk's Department, 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, California or
by calling (949) 644-3005.
