ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on October 14, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, adopted an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-29
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, ADDING SECTION 11.04.085
(PROHIBITING THE USE OF ELECTRIC BICYCLES AND
SIMILAR DEVICES ON THE NEWPORT ELEMENTARY
SCHOOL PLAYGROUND) AND AMENDING SECTION 11.04.130
(EXEMPTION) OF CHAPTER 11.04 (PARKS, PARK FACILITIES,
AND BEACHES) OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
Adoption of Ordinance No. 2025-29 would add Section 11.04.085 (Prohibiting the Use of
Electric Bicycles and Similar Devices on the Newport Elementary School Playground) and
Amending Section 11.04.130 (Exemption) of Chapter 11.04 (Parks, Park Facilities, and Beaches)
of the Newport Beach Municipal Code
Ordinance No. 2025-29 was approved by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: Barto, Blom, Grant, Kleiman, Stapleton,
Weber and Weigand
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
RECUSED: COUNCILMEMBERS: None
The ordinance will become effective 30 days after adoption date. A copy of the above ordinance
is available at the City Clerk's Department, 100 Civic Center Drive, Newport Beach, California or
by calling (949) 644-3005.
