ORDINANCE SUMMARY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on November 4, 2025, the City Council of the City of Newport
Beach, California, will introduce an Ordinance entitled:
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-35
ORDINANCE NO. 2025-35, AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AMENDING CHAPTER 12.56 (BICYCLES —
REGISTRATION AND REGULATIONS) OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE
Proposed Ordinance will update the City of Newport Beach Municipal Code,
Chapter 12.56 (Bicycles — Registration and Regulations), adding more street corridors
where sidewalk cycling is allowed.
This Ordinance will be introduced by the City Council of the City of Newport Beach,
California, at a regular meeting thereof on the 4th day of November, 2025.
Second reading of Ordinance No. 2025-35 will occur at the November 18, 2025, City
Council meeting. If adopted on November 18, 2025, the Ordinance shall become final and
effective 30 days after adoption.
