RE: ADDITIONS TO INTERCOLLEGIATE ROWING AND SAILING BASE -- NEGATIVE DECLARATION
Pursuant to resolution of the Coast Community College District Board
of Trustees, 1370 Adams Avenue, Costa Mesa, California, adopted
June 6, 1973, and amended February 20, 1974, containing criteria
and procedures for the evaluation of projects in preparation of environ-
mental impact reports in accordance with the California Environmental
Quality Act of 1970, the enclosed Notice of Negative Declaration is
hereby filed.
Enclosed also is Board action authorizing the submittal of this declara-
tion (September 18, 1974).

This project consists of an 1,815 gross square foot addition to the Orange Coast
College Intercollegiate Rowing and Sailing Base. The additional space will be used
almost entirely for the storage of both eight -man and four -man rowing shells. The
addition will be in keeping with present architectural design and will neither add
nor subtract from existing parking space..

OF THE SEPTEMBER 18, 1974 MEETING OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES, COAST
COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT:
BUILDINGS AND GROUNDS REPORT NO. 8.2
Authorization to File Negative
Declaration, Sailing Facility Addition
It was noted that an initial study of the environmental impact of the
proposed addition to the Orange Coast College Intercollegiate Rowing
and Sailing Base Building has been made pursuant to revised and amended
guidelines for the evaluation of projects, including procedures for the
evaluation of projects as required by the Environmental Quality Act of
1970 and as adopted by the Board on February 20, 1974; and that the
results of this study indicate the project will not have significant
effect upon the environment.
In view of these facts, it was moved by Mr. Keene and seconded by Mr.
Humphreys that authorization be given to prepare and file a negative
declaration as provided in paragraph "D" of the above -referenced amended
procedures for the evaluation of projects.
Motion carried with the following vote: Aye - Mr. Keene, Mr. Humphreys,
Mr. Kettler, Mr. Rodda and Mr. Hoff. Nay - None. Absent - None.
