Description of Nature, Purpose, and Beneficiaries of Project:
(1) Construct 10"-high concrete cap atop existing bulkhead coping to resist sea water flood-
ing of streets and homes on Little Balboa Island to elevation 9.5 MLLW South Bay Front
and 9.0 MLLW East Bay Front.
(2) Repair concrete bulkhead as needed around Balboa Island and Little Balboa Island to
assure the bulkheads' structural integrity.
Beneficiaries are the residents of Balboa Island and Little Balboa Island and the City of
Newport Beach's maintenance efforts.
