LOCATION: The proposed project is located within the city limits of Newport Beach at Big Canyon; see attached plan showing limits of the project in red. 2. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project consists of completing the existing improve- ments for Jamboree Road including sidewalks, street lights, curb and gutter, paving, and storm drainage facilities. These improvements will extend from Ford Road southerly approximately 950 L.F. 3. PURPOSE OF PROJECT: To provide regional bicycle trail and pedestrian walkway and pave the existing unimproved shoulder. 4. DISCUSSION OF ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS: a) Land Resources The right of way for Jamboree Road was reserved and dedicated as a portion of the City approved Master Plan Street System. b) Human Resources There are no known situations which would effect the residential developments in the adjacent areas. c) Geologic Hazards There are no known unique geologic hazards associated with the area. A minimum of grading will be required. d) Flooding, Erosion & Siltation The proposed construction of Jamboree Road will eliminate all of the present erosion. The existing open culvert will be improved by constructing an underground conduit system. e) Ground Water There are no known sources of ground water in the area which could effect this project. • tabe z of 2 IMPROVEMENT OF EXISTING JAMBOREE ROAD f) Noise Level The improvement of Jamboree Road will not change the ambient noise levels for the surrounding areas. g) Air Resources This project will not increase or decrease the total volume of vehicle emissions. h) Vegatation and Animal Life There are no known rare or endangered species of animal or plant life within or adjacent to the project area. i) Summary This overall project does not appear to have a significant effect on the environment. The improvement of this portion of Jamboree Road should improve the environment by eliminating an unsightly unimproved shoulder that collects debris and is a hazard during the winter rainy season.
