HomeMy WebLinkAbout00 - Engineer's ReportREPORT The City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach, California, pursuant to the instructions of the City Council of said city, hereby makes and files the following report and recommendations: 1, That the general nature, location and extent of the proposed improvement of Lake Avenue and other streets (Lake Tract) are as follows: (a) The grading, paving with plant mix material, construction of cement concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, alley approaches, ornamental street lighting system and appurtenant work in connection therewith; In LAIC; AVENUE between 32nd Street and 36th Street. (b) The grading, paving with plant mix material, construction of cement concrete curbs, gutters, sidewalks, alley approaches, sewer and water service connections, ornamental street lighting system and appurtenant work in connection therewith; In MARCUS AVENU between 32nd Street and a line parallel to and distant 130 feet Northwesterly from the Northwesterly line of 36th Street, (c) The grading, paving with plant mix material, construction of cement concrete curbs, gutters, alley approach, sewer and water service connections, catch basins and storm drain, ornamental street lighting system and appurtenant work in connection therewith; — 1 — In 32ND STREET between the Southeasterly prolongation of the Southwesterly line of Lot 23, Block 132, Lake Tract, as per map recorded in Miscellaneous Map Book 4, Page 13, Records of Orange County, California, and the Northerly prolongation of the Easterly line of Lot 13, Block 231 of said Lake Tract. (d) The grading, paving with plant mix material, curbs, construction of cement concrete gutters, sewer and water service connections, catch basins and storm drains, ornamental street lighting system and appurtenant work in connection therewith; In 33RD STREET., 34TR STREET and 35TH STREET between a line parallel to and distant 25 feet Northeasterly from the Northeasterly line of Balboa Boulevard, and the North- easterly line of said Lake Tract, 2. That all of said work and improvement, proposed to be done, shall be constructed along the lines, between the points and at the places shown on Map No. 427, consisting of one sheet, filed with this report and by this reference made a part of this report, 3. That the boundaries of the district or lands, benefited and to be specially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of the proposed improvement, less the amount to be contributed by the City of Newport Beach, are shown on said. Map No. 427, consisting of one sheet, filed with this report and by this reference made a part of this report. 4* That the cost of said proposed improvement shall be assessed against the lands to be benefited thereby and herein described, after deducting the amount to be contributed by the City of Newport Beach. — 2 — 5. That this report is prepared and the costs of the proposed improvements are distributed upon the assumption that the City of Newport Beach will contribute from its General Fund the sum of $3500,00 towards the costs and expenses of said improvements herei�riabove described. 6, That the proposed improvements shall be made under the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911", Divis-ion VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California. 7. That serial bonds, bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum and extending over a period of nine (9) years from the secmd day of January next succeeding the next October fifteenth following their date shall be issued hereunder in the manner provided by the said "Improvement Act of 1911," being Part 5, Division VII of the said Streets and Highways Code to represent each assessment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00), or more, remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the assessment warrant. 8a That the assessed values shown herein are based on the last equalized county assessment roll of the County of Orange, California. 9.
