HomeMy WebLinkAbout00 - Engineer's Report (Alley Improvements)R E P O R T The City Engineer of the City of Newport Beach, California, pursuant to the instructions of the City Council of said City, hereby makes and files the following report and recommendations; 1, That the general nature, location and extent of the proposed improvements in certain streets and alleys in said city, are as follows: (a) Grading, paving with plant mix material, installation of house sewer and water connections and appur- tenant work in connection therewith; in the first ALLEY lying Northerly from Balboa Boulevard, between Eighteenth Street and Nineteenth Street; and in the first ALLEY lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard, between Eleventh Street and. Thirteenth Street, and between Fourteenth Street and Fif- teenth Street, and between Nineteenth Street and the first alley lying West of Fifteenth Street, (b) Grading, paving with plant mix material, installation of water connections and appurtenant work in connection therewith; in the first ALLEY lying Northerly from Balboa Boulevard, between Eleventh Street and Twelfth Street, and between Thirteenth Street and Fifteenth Street, (c) The construction of cement concrete alley approaches or aprons at the following locations, to -wit; in the Westerly side of - 1 - ELEVENTH STREET at its intersection with the first alley lying Northerly from Balboa Boulevard; and in the Easterly side of THIF'TH STREET at its intersection with the first alley lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard; and in TFJPTEENTN STREET along the Easterly side thereof, at its intersection with the first alley lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard, and along the Westerly side thereof at its intersection with the first alley lying Northerly from said Balboa Boulevard; and in the Westerly side of FOURTEENTH STREET at its intersection with the first alley lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard; and in the Easterly side of FIFTEENTH STREET at its intersection with the first alley lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard; and in the Easterly side of SIITEENTH STREET at its intersection with the first alley lying Southerly from Balboa Boulevard; and in the Easterly side of NINETEENTH STREET at its intersections with the first alleys lying Northerly and Southerly from Balboa Boulevard. (d) The furnishing of 115 feet of corrugated metal pipe for storm drain to be constructed by the City in that certain EASEIENT along the Easterly side of Lot 22, Block 14, Section B, Newport Beach. 2., That all of the said work and improvements proposed to be done shall be constructed along the lines, between the points and at the places shown on Map No. 429, consisting of three sheets, filed with this report and by this reference made a part hereof, - 2 - 3. That the boundaries of the district or lands benefited and to be specially assessed to pay the costs and expenses of the proposed improvements are shown upon said Map, consisting of three sheets, filed with this report and by this reference wade a part hereof. 4,, That the entire cost of said proposed improvements shall be assessed against the lands to be benefited thereby and herein described,. 5n That the proposed improvements shall be made under the provisions of the "Improvement Act of 1911", being Division VII of the Streets and Highways Code of the State of California.. 6n That it is hereby determined that serial bonds, to represent unpaid assessments and bearing interest at the rate of six per cent (6%) per annum, shall be issued to represent each assess- ment of Twenty-five Dollars ($25.00) or more remaining unpaid for thirty (30) days after the date of recording the warrant. Said serial bonds shall extend over a period ending nine (9) years from the second day of January next succeeding the next October 15th following their date, the said bonds to be issued under the provisions of the said "Improvement ,act of 191111, being Part 5 of Division VII of said Streets and Highways Code. 7. That the assessed values shown herein are based on the 1a st equalized county assessment roll of the County of Orange,$ Californian 8.
