Dear McDonald Family,
On behalf of the Newport Beach City Council and our community, I extend our
deepest condolences on the passing of Carol Catherine McDonald,
Erik Kenneth Weigand At our recent City Council meeting, we adjourned in Carol's memory as a small but
heartfelt gesture of respect for a woman whose life reflected such generosity,
dedication, and love for others. It was important to us to pause and acknowledge the
impact she had on her family and on the community she so faithfully served.
Carol's legacy as a devoted mother, an inspiring educator, and a passionate
volunteer embodies the very spirit of service that strengthens a city. Her years of
teaching, her commitment to organizations such as the Red Cross, and her
volunteer work with the Newport Beach Police Department and Animal Shelter left a
lasting impression on countless lives, She gave freely of her time, her energy, and
her kindness, and Newport Beach is better for it.
Please know that Carol's contributions and her remarkable life were honored with
sincere appreciation and respect. Our thoughts are with you as you remember her,
celebrate her life, and carry forward the values she so clearly lived by.
With deepest sympathy,
Lauren Kleiman
Mayor
