CHECK FEE CORRECTIONS

BACKGROUND
• April 23, 2024 - Resolution No. 2024-29
• Adopted a new format and layout for the Schedule of Rents, Fines and
Fees (SRFF)
• Departments reviewed included Finance, Harbor, Public Works &
Utilities
• Building fees had been studied the prior year and were increased by
CPI, where applicable
• Formatting consolidation inadvertently omitted certain building fee
notes containing clarifying language
• April 29, 2025 — Resolution No. 2025-17
• Updated the SRFF
• Included scrivener's errors that incorrectly identified certain building
and plan check fees as flat -rate fees rather than variable -rate fees
• Inadvertently omitted certain descriptive notes
RECOMMENDATIONS
• It is recommended that the City Council consider approving the
recommendations reflected in the staff report in order to adopt a
resolution correcting the identified scrivener's errors by reclassifying
certain building and plan check fees from flat -rate to variable -rate,
consistent with their intended methodology, and reinstating the omitted
descriptive notes to clarify fee application.
• The proposed corrections are administrative in nature and do not
establish new fees or increase existing fee amounts.
