Please see below the information I gave on public comments on Saturday. Good stuff and great #TeamWork Category: Reducing Noise emanating from JWA into Newport Beach At the end of the meeting, during public comment on non -agenda items, I highlighted the work we#re doing#with support from the City, OC Supervisor Katrina Foley, and John Wayne Airport#to ensure this vital community asset can thrive while meaningfully reducing jet departure noise in our neighborhoods. Our focus is advocating for High and Slow, Quiet (HSQ) departures and accelerating the use of newer, quieter NextGen aircraft such as the Boeing MAX and Airbus NEO, which are on average 5 dB quieter (a meaningful reduction, since a 10 dB increase equals double the noise). From the ground, HSQ departures with NextGen aircraft sound less like a roar and more like a hummmmm. In 2019, NextGen aircraft made up just 1.8% of commercial jet departures; by the end of 2025, that number grew to 28.8% through collective effort. Because JWA is a close -in airportOwhere departing jets immediately fly over our communitiesAwe must continue incentivizing airlines to deploy more NextGen aircraft here. Southwest, the largest commercial departure carrier with -32 daily departures, has additional Boeing MAX aircraft on order pending FAA approval. When approved, and if they continue what they demonstrated last August and Septemberowhen every Southwest departure was NextGenOwe011 be in a very good place. #TeamWork III, Fleet Optimization Rep J ahn Wayne Airport - FlW M ix AsrC+aft Type 2979 2926 x021 2020 2323 2024 2025 Arun A30G600 A306 %1 Gs 2911 273 X7 2CS 241 MY Aran A315 A319 1990 lAw 1.701 ZTA I.SB Lao 521 ?16ua A.iO A3M 3.81z 1931 :,523 4.eK 2.1370 2.9%ae 2.090 .4rV- A}_ 1 A321 107 295 516 a40 m S33 454 3-9 717-M B712 I249 0 0 0 0 4 0 0-=J0 5-mV 737$W7 6710 29 t7 0 a 0 4 0 47.714 B—N 737 700 B737 16,479 7:712 12 ag 1 U=t 17,847 17.144 15,B00 3-4737-1300 673E 11,012 61v6 100E57 9iri 10,116 MIMI E,775 3--V 7F.W0 8752 1i64 734 90B 1.196 1,514 14m 1,i90 `mamp, cmim'p to Gm, 1 3 0 0 0 0 0 Ca'wWN CV47 Gjw 153 331 y3z N 387 am '-1.31 p4g Cenntler CR.99 LRA 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 3-t ld-1k4d1E DUM a a 9 a u 0 U wgta E&1135 Ef35 2312 r,11L5 1,944 2228 1.231 1,216 1,'r96 tArft l E&I145 E 14.5 13 226 37B 3L9 92B 1.047 1, 115 Erb—EPi 175 E175 7.r_46 4.55E 3,6w 3.309 4.42 424E 51926 _ E-t—ETU-190 Em r 0 0 ! 93 34 2 EmtracrFL16 EW- e 0 9 } 60 0 0 45,$33 M4 3S_790 47,rp9 4?,o 3L37L 3RA52 AKuatt Type 2619 2020 2021 2022 2023 21124 202E 5-"73TJM YAx 93W 5 L 358 3, 142 145P 3490 7,920 A."AUU" A24M 4m w 1.550 ZOIS 2Lfl44 i.4W 1.814 Ab-A32 I— A"r1M 1 1 44 2S 4L6 L327 1,0R Arhus AZW-100 AMm 42$ 97a ?,pia 1,01 2200 z706 M -v Ag" Aru-3m Ap] 0 n 53 ],OE3 ] 743 1,250 1.56e 5iS 1,332 61910 V74 7--Q 10-TM IAZ25 T91L17 2019 2020 2021 2M 2023 2024 2025 D-f-- 47,714 2r9CP 398M >0,563 $0,U36 110p28 Si.377 `L O1 T>'p Ar r 1.957C 5_10% 19.994E '5.17% L5.57% 21 b2'1.
