Dear Mayor and Council Members,
I am a permitted short-term rental owner in Corona del Mar, writing regarding the proposed
enforcement ordinance associated with Ordinance No. 2026- (as introduced February 10)
concerning high -risk period enforcement.
I support strong enforcement against bad actors and agree that public safety and
neighborhood quality of life are important. However, I am concerned about the
proposed "shall revoke" language, which would require permit revocation without the
ability to consider the specific facts and circumstances of each case.
I respectfully ask that this be revised to "may revoke," so the City retains discretion to
distinguish between serious violations and isolated or disputed situations. Responsible
operators who follow the rules should not face automatic loss of their permits without a
fair and balanced review.
Thank you for your time and consideration.
Sincerely,
Roya Nasr

My name is Robert Moore, i am the owner of 3112 w oceanfront in Newport Beach. We
have owned this duplex since 1986, our management company has been Burr White from
the date of our purchase. We have never had a complaint or issue until the 4th of July this
year. The issues started on the boardwalk and moved to 31 st street. Our tenants were a
family with young family and were inside during all the troubles.
We continue to monitor our tenants and put restraints on who they rent too. We recently
did over $30k in repairs to our Duplex. We are constantly making improvements on these
units. We are responsible owners and want to keep the appearance up to hold to Newport
Beach standards.
Please don't penalize the owners who uphold the Newport standards.
