inquired as to whether this was a precise
alignment. Mr. Nolan, City Engineer, stated
that it was not but that the Public Works
Department would like to resolve this problem
as soon as possible and hoped to have it fixed

precisely within a year.

Mr. Robert L. Seiling of 504 - 35th Street,.
Newport Beach requested an interpretation of
the term "mezzanine" and was advised that
there was no such term in the zoning ordinance
and, therefore, if the area designated as a.
"mezzanine" is above another floor,.it consti-
tutes a "story ".

Commissioner Clemence advised the staff that
the Sign Ordinance is not being policed as
regards signs in residential areas and specifi
cally called attention to developments on
Linda Isle.
On motion of Commissioner Copelin, seconded by
Commissioner Jakosky, and carried,,the meeting
was adjourned.
