Commissioners Absent: Autry. MINUTES Minutes of the regular meeting.on September 16, 1965 and adjourned meeting October 7, 1965 were approved on the motion of Commissioner. Chairman Curtis summarized the action of the Commission by stating that the present 30' width lots in the City are substandard and the combining and widening of lots is desir- able; the Commission is reluctant to go back to the practice of creating smaller building sites than those permitted under present Subdivision Regulations. BUSINESS The Commission reviewed Use Permit No. 1156, Motion Second All Ayes x x The Irvine Company; which permits the removal of earthen material at 2200 Back.Bay Drive, Newport Beach, to ascertain whether or not the ap.pli.cant is adhering to the conditions imposed when the use permit was approved on September 16, 1965. After considering testimony presented by ,a representative of the-Irvine Company and . persons-residing in the area, the Commission recommended that the use permit be revoked for the following reasons: Motion x Second x 1. The Irvine Company has attempted, Ayes x x x xx:x,x x unsuccessfully, to control the Noes dust created by the operation. 2. The dust and dirt problems created for the surrounding property owners is excessive and has already-caused much property damage. 3. There is substantial danger to the life and limb of the persons re- siding in the area, particularly the school children forced to use Tustin Avenue. 4. The conditions of approval of Use Permit No. 1156 have not been complied with. COMMUNICATIONS Commission approved a requested dated SThe October 1, 1965, signed by C. Chairman Jakosky requested the staff to prepare a report concerning the method of determining the square footage of a sign, the organization of the Sign Board of Adjustments and areas of jurisdiction. On motion of Commissioner Copelin, seconded by Commissioner Clark; and carried, the meeting • was adjourned until November 4, 1965 at 8:00 P.M. in the City Council Chambers.
