ORDINANCE NO. 231
AN ORDINANCE OF THE BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH DESIGNATING
THE NAME BY WHICH A CER-
TAIN PUBLIC STREET IN SAID
CITY SHALL BE KNOWN AND
CALLED AND ESTABLISHING
THE GRADES AND CURB LINES
OF CERTAIN PORTIONS OF
SANTA ANA AVENUE, OCEAN
DRIVE, I2TH STREET AND I4TH
STREET WITHIN SAID CITY.
THE Board of Trustees of the City
of Newport Beach do ordain as fol-
lows:
SECTION 1.
That that certain piece or parcel
of land heretofore deeded to the City
of Newport Beach for street purposes
and described as follows: Beginning
at the most westerly cower of Park
!Z. Block B. of a Map of First Addt-
tion of Newport Heights as recorder
in miscellaneous Map Book 4. page 94.
records of Orange County. California;
thence North 15 degrees 49 minutes
East along the southerly line of said
Park Z. a distance of 13.48 feet to a
Point: thence South 68 degrees 49
minutes West 360.47 feet to a point,
thence southwesterly around a cir-
cular curve, with a radius of 100
feet, concave to the southeast. a dis-
tance of 104.45 feet to a point in the
easterly line of the County Highway:
`henee North 8 degrees 58 minutes
East along the easterly line of the
aforesaid County Highway a distance
of 170.36 feet to a point: thence
southeasterly around a circular curve.
with a radius of 25 feet. concave to
the northeast, a distance of 52.42 feet
to a point: thence North 68 degrees
49 minutes East 394.85 feet to a point
in the northwesterly line of Santa
Ana Avenue. as said Santa Ana
Avenue is laid out and shown upon
thb aforesaid Map of First Addition
to Newport Heights: thence South 25
degrees 41 minutes East 40.12 feet to
a point in the southeasterly line of
,the. aforesaid Santa Ana Avenue:
thence South 59 degrees 49 minutes
West along the aforesaid southeaster -
ly -line of Santa, Ana Avenue. a dis-
tance of 67.12 feet to the place of

open public street of 'the City of
.Newport Beach and the name by
which said street shall be known and
called is hereby declared to be
!"Santa Ana Avenue."
SECTION 2.
The official grades o: Santa Ana
Avenue from the easterly line of the
County Highway which said easterly
line of said County Hig:iway is also
the westerly boundary line of a por-
tion of the City of Newport Beach to
the center line of 15th Street. which
said center line of 15th Street is also
the northeasterly boundary line of a
portion of the City of Newport Beach:
and Ocean Drive froth, a line 102.44
feet northwesterly of and parallel
with the southwesterly prolonga-
tion of the northwesterly line of that
part of Santa Ana Avenue lying
northeasterly of Ocean Drive to the
southeasterly prolongation of the
northeasterly line of 12th Street: and
12th Street from the northwesterly
line of Santa Ana Avenue to the
northwesterly line of Ocean Drive:
and 14th Street from the southeast-
erly line of Santa Ana Avenue to the
center line of Westminster Avenue,
which said center line v� westmins-
'ter Avenue is also the northwesterly
boundary line of a portion of the City
of Newport Beach, are hereby estab-
lished to conform to the elevations
and grades therefor shown upon
Plan No. 279 adopted by the Board of
Trustees of the City of Newport Beach
by Resolution No. 236 and on file in
the office of the City Clerk of said
;City and the curb lines of the here-
inbefore mentioned portions of streets
Viand avenus are hereby, fixed and
established at the locations shown
upon the hereinbefore mentioned
Plan No. 279.
SECTION 3.
The City Clerk shall certify Jo the
passage of this Ordinance and cause
the same to be published by one in-
sertion in the Newport News a weekly
newspaper printed. published and
circulated in said City and herebv
designated for that purpose. This
Ordinance shall take effect upon its
passage.
