ORDINANCE NO. 453
AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH, ADD-
ING A NEW SECTION TO OR-
DINANCE NO. 310 OF TIE'
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH.
TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION
1 -a.
The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council, do
.ordain as follows:
Section 1. There is herebv add -
ed to Ordinance No. 310 of the
City of Newport Beach a nee,
section to be known as Section
1 -a, which said section shall read
as follows, to -wit:
"The real property hereafter
•- described is hereby taken away
from Fire District No. 11 as des-
cribed in Ordinance No. 310 ape
amendments thereto of the city r°
Newport Beach, and the same ;^
hereby added to Fire District No.
2 of said City as described in said
+Ordinance No. 310.
That the real property herein

taken away from Fire District No.
1 and added to Fire District No.
2 of the City of Newport Beach.
and as described in Ordinance Mi.
310 of the city of Newport Beach
is described as all that certain
territory situated in the City of
Newport Beach, Orange County,
California, and more particularly
described as follows, to -wit:
Beginning at the intersec.
tion of the center line of Bay
Avenue with the center line of
--Adams Street, as said Bay
-Avenue and said Adams
Street are laid out and shown
on a map of the Balboa Tract,
recorded in Book 4, page 11 of
Miscellaneous Maps, Records
of Orange County, California;
running thence northeasterly
along the said center line of
Adams Street to an intersec-
tion with the mean high fiac
line of the Pacific Ocean in
Newport Bay, as said mean
high tide line is described in
Court Case Decree No. 23679
of the Superior Court of the
'State of California, in and for
the County of Orange; thence
southeasterly along last des-
cribed mean high tide line to
an intersection with the cen-
ter line of "A" Street, as
said "A" Street is laid out and
shown upon said map of Bal-
boa Tract; thence southwest-
erly along said center line of
"A" Street to an intersection .
with the southeasterly prolon-
gation of the center line of the
first alley lying southwesterly
of and parallel to Bay Ave-
nue, as laid out and shown
upon said map of Balboa
Tract; thence northwesterly
along the southeasterly pro-
longation of the last described
alley and the center line of
said alley to an intersection
with the southeasterly line of
Main Street, as said Main
Street is laid out and shown
Upon said Balboa Tract;
thence northwesterly in a di-
rect line to the point of in-
tersection of the southeast-
erly prolongation of said Bay
Avenue with the northwester-
ly line of said Main Street;
thence northwesterly along
the center line of said Bay
Avenue to the point of begin-
ning.
Section 2. It shall be unlaw-
ful to construct, erect, or build
any building or structure of Type
4 construction under the building
code of the City of Newport
Beach, 1935 Edition. In all other
respects, buildings may be erect-
ed and constructed in accordance
with said uniform building code.
Section 3. The City Clerk of
the City of Newport Beach shall
cause this ordinance to be pub-
lished once in NEWPORT NEWS,
a newspaper of general circula-
tion, printed, published and gen•;
erally circulated in the City of
Newport Beach, and shall take
effect and be in force thirty days
after its passage.
The above and foregoing or-,
dinance passed by the City Council
of the City of Newport Beach at
an adjourned regular meeting
thereof held on the 19th day of
April, 1937, by the following vote.,
to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Gordon,
Claire, Whitson.
NOES, Councilmen: Williamson:
ABSENT, Councilmen: Garfield.
The above and foregoing ordin-
ance is approved and signed by
me this 19th day of April, 1937.
