ORDINANCE NO. 591
ORDINANCE APPROVING THE
ANNEXATION OF CERTAIN
UNINHABITED TERRITORY
CONTIGUOUS TO THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH LYING
GENERALLY EASTERLY OF
THAT PORTION OF THE
CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
KNOWN AS THE FIRST
ADDITION TO NEWPORT
HEIGHTS AND CONTAINING
APPROXIMATELY 15.3
ACRES.
The City of Newport Beach, by
and through its City Council does
ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: That the annexa-
tion to the City of Newport Beach,
California, of that certain unin-
habited territory contiguous to
said City, lying generally easterly
of that portion of t he City of
Newport Beach known as the
First Addition to Newport
Heights and containing approx-
imately 15.3 acres, is hereby
approved, and that the same is
hereby ordained to be annexed to
ana made a part of the City of
Newport Beach, California: That
said territory is particularly
described as follows:
Beginning at the point of
intersection of the center lines
of Irvine Avenue and Coral
Place as said streets are laid
out and shown upon a map of
Tract No. 1220 recorded in
Miscellaneous Map Book 38,
pages 49 and 50. Records of
^range County, California
said point of intersection also
being in the boundary line of
the City of Newport Beach;
thence southeasterly along the
center line of said Coral Place
to an intersection with the
center line of College Road as
shown on said Tract; thence
southerly along the center line
of said College Road to an
intersection with the center
line of Cliff Drive as shown
on said Tract; thence westerly
along the center line of said
Cliff Drive to an intersection
with the center line of said
Irvine Avenue; thence north-
erly along the center line of
said IrOne Avenue and the
boundary line of the City of
Newport Beach to the point
of beginning.
SECTION 2: That the boun-
daries of t h e City of Newport
Beach, California be, and the same
are hereby altered to include the
above described territory, the an-
nexation of which is approved and
ordained herein, and incorporated
in the City of Newport Beach,
California.
SECTION 3: T h a t the pro-
ceedings a n d annexation herein
ordained are had and taken under
and pursuant to the provisions of
an Act of the Legislature of the
State of California, designated and
referred to as the "Annexation of
Uninhabited Territory Act of
1939."
SECTION 4: The City Clerk
shall cause this ordinance to be
published within fifteen days after
its passage at least once in the
Newport-Balboa Press, a news-
paper of general circulation pub-
lished and circulated in the City
of Newport Beach.
The above and foregoing ordi-
nance was passed at a regular
meeting of the City Council of
the City of Newport Beach held
on the 28th day of March, 1949,
and was finally adopted at a
regular meeting held on the 11th
day of April, 1949, by the
following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Greeley,
Robertson, Isbell, Blue, Drake.
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None.
ABSENT, COUNCILMEN: None.
