ORDINANCE NO. 597
AN ORDINANCE CHANGING
THE NAME OF A CERTAIN
PORTION OF SMELTZER
AVENUE IN THE CITY OF
NEWPORT .BEACH TO LA
JOLLA DRIVE AND CHANG-
ING THE NAME OF AN-
OTHER CERTAIN PORTION
OF SMELTZER AVENUE IN
THE CITY OF NEWPORT
BEACH TO CATALINA
DRIVE.
SECTION 1: That certain por-
tion of public street in the City
og `Newport Beach known as
Smeltzer Avenue and lying be-
tween the southwesterly line of
Beacon Street and the northerly
line of Santa Ana Avenue, as
shown upon a map of Tract No.
444 recorded in Book 119, page 29
of Miscellaneous Maps, records of
Orange County, California, shall
hereafter be called and the name
of said portion of Smeltzer Ave-
nue is hereby declared to be La
Jolla Drive; and that certain por-
tion of public street in said City
known as Smeltzer Avenue and
lying between the southwesterly
line of Fifteenth Street and the
northeasterly line of Broad
Street as shown upon a map of
the First Addition to Newport
Heights recorded in Book 4, page
E., -
94 of Miscellaneous Maps, records
of Orange County, California, shall
hereafter be called and the name
of said portion of Smeltzer Ave-
nue last referred to is hereby de-
clared to be Catalina Drive.
SECTION 2: This ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport- Balboa Press, a news-
paper printed and published and
of general circulation in the City
of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be in force thirty days after
its passage.
The foregoing Ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on the 23rd
day of May, 1949, and on said
13th day of June, 1949, said
Ordinance was amended to read
as above and thereafter on the
27th day of June, 1949, said
Ordinance as so amended was
duly adopted by the following
vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Greeley,
Robertson, Isbell, Drake.
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: Blue.
