ORDINANCE NO. 600
ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC-
TION 3112 OF THE MUNICI-
PAL CODE, DESIGNATING
AREAS PERMITTING THE
SETTING AND MAINTAIN-
ING OF CAMP FIRES AND
PROHIBITING THE SAME
ELSEWHERE WITHIN THE
CITY.
SECTION 1: Section 3112 of the
Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amend-
ed to read as follows:
Section 3112: Camp Fires. No
beach or camp fires shall be
made, set or maintained at any
place within the City of Newport
Beach except within the areas
specifically described as follows:
Campfire Area No. 1
A parcel of land 200 feet in
width lying 100 feet each side of
and adjacent to the following
described center line: Beginning
at a point in the southerly pro -
longationn of the center line of
"L" Street, said point of begin-
ning being 100 feet southerly of
Tract No. 518; thence southerly
along said southerly prolongation
of "L" Street to the high tide line
of the Pacific Ocean:
Campfire Area No. 2
Beginning at a point in the
southwesterly prolongation of the
northwesterly line of Adams
Street, said point being 250 feet
southwesterly of the southwest-
erly line of Ocean Front; thence
southwesterly along said south-
westerly prolongation to the high
tide line of the Pacific Ocean;
thence easterly along said high
tide line to the intersection with
a line, said line lying 80 feet
measured at right angles south-
easterly of and parallel to the
southwesterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of Washington
Street; thence northerly along
said parallel line to a point 250
feet southwesterly of the south-
westerly line of Ocean Front;
thence northwesterly in a direct
line to the point of beginning.
Campfire Area No. 3
A parcel of land 200 feet in
width lying 100 feet each side of
and adjacent to the following
described center line; Beginning at
a point in the southerly prolonga-
tion of the center line of 15th
Street, said point of beginning
being 35 feet southerly of the
southerly line of Ocean Front;
thence southerly along said south-
erly prolongation of 15th Street
to the high tide line of the Pacific
Ocean.
Campfire Area, No. 4
Beginning at a point in the
southwesterly prolongation of the
southeasterly line of 23rd Street,
said point of beginning being 50
feet southwesterly of the south-
westerly line of Ocean Front;
thence southwesterly along said
southwesterly prolongation to the
high tide line of the Pacific

Ocean; thence northwesterly along
said high tide line to an intersec-
tion with a line, said line being
75 feet measured at right angles
northwesterly of and parallel to
the southwesterly prolongation of
the northwesterly line of 24th
Street; thence northeasterly along
said line to a point 50 feet south-
westerly of the southwesterly line
of Ocean Front, thence southeast-
erly in a direct line to the point
of beginning.
Campfire Area No. 5
A parcel of land 200 feet in
width lying 100 feet each side of
and adjacent to the following
described center line; Beginning
at a point in the southwesterly
prolongation of the centerline of
30th Street, said point of begin-
ning being 50 feet southwesterly
of the southwesterly line of Ocean
Front; thence southwesterly along
said southwesterly prolongation of
the center line of 30th Street to
the high tide line of the Pacific
Ocean.
Campfire Area No. 6
A parcel of land 200 feet in
width lying 100 feet each side of
and adjacent to the following
described line: Beginning at the
point of intersection of the south -
westerly prolongation of the cen-
ter line of 36th Street with the
southwesterly line of Ocean Front;
thence southwesterly along said
southwesterly prolongation of said
Stith Street to the high tide line
of the Pacific Ocean.
Campfire Area No. 7
A parcel of land 200 feet in
width lying 100 feet each side of
and adjacent to the :allowing
described line: Beginning at a
point in the southwesterly pro -
'ongation of Orange Street, said
point of beginning being 50 feet
southwesterly of the southwester-
ly line of Ocean Front; thence
southwesterly along said south-
westerly prolongation to the high
tide line of the Pacific Ocean.
SECTION 2: This ordinance
shall be published once in the
Newport - Balboa Press, a news-
paper, printed and published and
of general circulation in the City
of Newport Peach, and the same
shall become effective forthwith
upon its final passage.
The foregoing ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting
of the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach held on 13th day
of Tune, 1949, and was finally
passed and adopted on the 27th
day of Tune, 1949, at a regular
meeting of the City Council by
the following vote, to -wit:
AYES, Councilmen: Greeley,
.,
Robertson, Isbell, Drake
NOES, Councilmen: None.
ABSENT, Councilmen: Blue.
