AN ORDINANCE AMENDING
SECTION 2665 OF THE MUNI-
CIPAL CODE OF THE CITY
OF. NEWPORT BEACH TO
PROVIDE FOU `:E ":v PATES
OF TAX DELIN(^UEXCY AND
RATE OF PENALTY
Whereas, the State of California
has amended the State Law as to
the delinquency date for. first half
real estate taxes from December
5, to December 10, and has re-
duced the delinquency penalty
from 8% to 6 %; and
Whereas, it is deemed advisable
and necessary to change the delin-
quency date for first half City real
estate taxes to coincide with the
State date, and also to change the
City penalty rate to coincide with
the State penalty rate;
Nov Therefore, The City Coun-
cil of the City of Newport Beach
does ordain as follows:
SECTION 1: Section 2665 of the
Municipal Code of the City of
Newport Beach is hereby amended
to read as follows:
"Section 2665. Delinquent Pen-
alty. All taxes due November 1,
if unpaid, are delinquent December
10 at five o'clock P. M., and there-
after a delinquent penalty of six
percent attaches to them. If these
taxes are not paid before the se-
cond half of taxes on real property
is delinquent, an additional delin-
quent penalty of three percent at-
taches to them."
SECTION 2: This Ordinance
shall be published at least once in
the Newport Harbor Ensign, a
newspaper of general circulation;
printed and published in the City
of Newport Beach and shall be in,
force and effect 30 days after the
final passage thereof.
The foregoing Ordinance was in-
troduced at a regular meeting of,
the City Council of the City of
Newport Beach, held on the 24th
day of March, 1952 and was finally
passed and adopted on the 28th
day of April, 1952, by the following
vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEN: Miller,
Horvath, Finch, Isbell, Smith
NOES, COUNCILMEN: None
ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None
