AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OOUN THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING Na 8118.1,
6113.1 (e), 6202.4 and- 6202.6 OF, AND SECTION,
6202.51 TO, THE MUNICIPAL CODE.,O$Jl$E O=- OF

The City Council of the City of Newport Beach n as

SECTION 1: Section 6113.1 of the Munici)Yf,", — 1&,ghe City
of Newport Beach is amended to read:' a wax"

SECTION' $: Section 6113.1 (c) Of the Municipal Code of the
City of Newpgrf 'Beach -is amended to' read I

SECTION.3: Section 6202.4 of the Municipal Code of the City
of Newport Beach is amended to read:

device owned by the licensee of a penny
arcade or an amusement business or con.

SECTION 4: Section 6202.5 of the Municipal Code Of the City

SECTION 5: Section 6202.51 Is added to the Municipal Code of
the City of Newport Beach to read:
"6202.51 Amusement Business in the 'Fun Zone.'
For each business or concession in the
area bounded by Main Street, Bay Ave-
nue, Palm Street and Newport Bay where
a Substantial portion thereof derives from .
furnishing amusement to the public, in-
cluding, pan game, penny pitch, throwing
or tossing game, shooting gallery, base-
ball throw, dart throw and other similar
things with the principal utility of amuse-
ment................................... ............................... 25.00 a c
For each station, seat, chair, handle, or
other facility for use by a patron on a
machine, game or device to such amuae-
ment business or concession Owned by the
licensee of the amusement business
concession or for each machine, game oT
device in such amusement business or

SECTION 6: The license fees established in this Ordinance for
penny arcades shall be prorated so that penny arcades pay a li-
cense fee for the period from October 1, 1957, through June 30, 1958,
of three- fourths ( %) of the fee they would have paid.. if the fees
established by'this Ordinance had beeq in effect for the entire year
of 1957.58. The license inspector shall so administer the provisions
hereby established.
SECTION 7: The license fees hereby established for other them
penny arcades shall be effective July 1, 1958.
SECTION 8: This Ordinance shall be published once'in the
Newport Harbor News - Press, a newspaper of general circulation,
printed and published in the City of Newport Beach, and the same
shall be effective 30 days after the date of its adoption.

This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 10th day of
March, 1858, and was adopted on the 24th day of March, 1858, by f
the following vote, to wit: '
