AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY
OF NEWPORT BEACH AMEN-
DING AND REPEALING CER-
TAIN SECTIONS OF CHAP -
TER2OFARTICLE III OF THE
NEWPORT BEACH MUNICI-
PAL CODE RELATING TO
TRAFFIC REGULATIONS
The City Council of the City
of Newport Beach does ordain
as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 3298.1
is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3298.1. Increased
Speed Limit - 30 M. P. H. The
prima facie speed limit on the
following named streets or
parts thereof shall be thirty
(30) miles per hour.
Irvine Avenue from a point
300 feet south of Francisco
Drive to Santa Isabel Avenue.
Santa Isabel Avenue from Ir-
vine Avenue to Tustin Ave-
nue.
Cliff Drive from Riverside
Avenue to Dover Drive.
Newport Boulevard from West
Coast Highway to 15th Street."
SECTION 2. Section 3298.2
is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3298.2. Increased
Speed Limit - 35 M, F. H. The
prima facie speed limit on the
following named streets or
parts thereof shall be thirty-
five (35) miles per hour.
Bayside Drive from East
Coast Highway southerly and
easterly -to a point 1,000 feet
westerly ofthe intersection of
Bayside Drive and the exten-
sion of Avocado Avenue."
SECTION 3. Sections 3299. 1
and 3299.2 of the Newport
Beach Municipal Code are re-
pealed.
SECTION 4. Section 3299.4
i is added to the Newport Beach
i Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3299.4. Decrea-
sed Speed Limit - 45 M. P, H.
The prima facie speed limit
on the following named streets
or parts thereof shall be forty -
five (45) miles per hour.
Jamboree Road from East
Coast Highway to Palisades
Road. "
SECTION 5. Section 3299.5
is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3299.5. Decrea-
sed Speed Limit - 40 M, P. H.
The prima facie speed limit
on the following named streets
or parts thereof shall be forty
(40) miles per hour.
Palisades Road from Jambc
ree Road to MacArthur Boule-
vard.
Dover Drive from West Coast
Highway to Westcliff Drive.
Westcliff Drive from Dover
Drive to Irvine Avenue. "
SECTION 6, Section 3299.6
is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3299.6. Decrea-
sed Speed Limit - 35 M, P, H,
The prima facie speed limit
on the following named streets
or parts theerof shall be thir-
ty-five (35) miles per hour.
Superior Avenue.
Jamboree Road from Bayside
Drive to East Coast Highway. "
SECTION 7. Section 3299.7
is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
"SECTION 3299.7. Decrea-
sed Speed Limit - 30 M. P. H.
The prima facie speed limit
on the following named streets
or parts thereof shall be thirty
(30) miles per hour.
West side of Dover Drive
from Westcliff Drive to Irvine
Avenue.
16th Street from Irvine Ave-
nue to Dover Drive.
Bayside Drive from Carna-
tion Avenue to Marguerite
Avenue."
SECTION 8. Section 3299.8
Is added to the Newport Beach
Municipal Code to read:
'SECTION 3299.8. Decrea-
sed Speed Limit - 25 M. P. H.

ty- five (25) miles per hour.
Balboa Boulevard from West
Coast Highway to Alvarado
Street.
Back Bay Drive from its sou-
therly intersection with Jam-
boree Road to its northerly in-
tersection with Jamboree
Road.
Riverside Avenue from West
Coast Highway to 250 feet
west of Tustin Avenue. "
SECTION 9. This ordinance
shall be published once in the
official newspaper of the City,
and the same shall be effective
30daysafter the date of its ad-
option.
This ordinance was introduced
ataregular meeting of the City
Council of the City of Newport
Beach held on the 10th day of
December, 1962, and was ad-
opted on the 17th day of De-
cember, 1962, by the follow-
ing vote, to -wit:
