AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
ADDING SECTION 20.83.045 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO PROVIDE THAT IF A
NON - CONFORMING USE IS MADE MORE CONFORMING
OR CONFORMING TO THE CODE IT MAY NOT BE
CHANGED TO A LESS CONFORMING USE THEREAFTER
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 20.83.045 is added to the
Newport Beach Municipal Code to read as follows:
"20.83.045. Conversion to More Nearly Conforming
Use. When the use of a non - conforming building or
building site is or has been changed or altered to a
use of a more nearly conforming or conforming classifica-
tion or when a non - conforming building or building site
is or has been changed or altered to more nearly conform
or to conform to the provisions of this title, then
• neither the use nor the non - conforming building or
building site may not thereafter be changed or altered
to a use of a less restrictive nature nor may the build-
ing or building site be altered or modified to make
the building or building site less nearly conforming
to the provisions of this title."
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once
in the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be
effective thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular- meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 25th
day of July -Y -, 1977 and was adopter: on the 8th day
of _ Aueust 1977, by the following vote, to wit:
