AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING SECTION 12.24.040 OF THE NEWPORT
BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE TO INCLUDE MONROVIA
AVENUE IN THE 35 MILE PER HOUR PRIMA FACIE
SPEED LIMIT ZONE AND AMENDING SECTION
12.24.070 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE
TO INCLUDE PORTIONS OF PLACENTIA AVENUE AND
FIFTEENTH STREET IN THE 40 MILE PER HOUR PRIMA
FACIE SPEED LIMIT ZONE
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.24.040 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"12.24.040 Prima Facie Speed Limit - Thirty -Five
Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the
following named streets or parts thereof shall be
thirty -five miles per hour:
Bayside Drive from East Coast Highway southerly and
easterly to a point 1,000 feet westerly of the intersec-
tion of Bayside Dirve and the extension of Avocado
Avenue.
Dove Street between Birch and North Bristol.
Irvine Avenue from 16th Street to Westcliff Drive.
Irvine Avenue starting at a point 826 feet north of
Mariners Drive and extending to Santiago Drive.
Monrovia Avenue.
Quail Street between Birch and Dove Streets."
SECTION 2. Section 12.24.070 of the Newport Beach Muni-
cipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"12.24.070 Prima Facie Speed Speed Limit - Forty
Miles Per Hour. The prima facie speed limit on the
following named streets or parts thereof shall be forty
miles per hour:

Birch Street from Bristol Street to Jamboree Boule-
Bristol Street from Jamboree Road to MacArthur
Boulevard.
Dover Drive from West Coast Highway to Westcliff
Drive.
Eastbluff Drive from Bixia Street northerly to
Jamboree Road.
Fifteenth Street between Superior Avenue and the
westerly City limit.
Placentia Avenue between Hospital Road and the
northerly City limit.
San Joaquin Hills Road between Marguerite Avenue
and MacArthur Boulevard.
San Miguel Drive between Ford Road and San Joaquin
Hills Road.
Spyglass Hill Road."
SECTION 3. This ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City and the same shall be effec-
tive thirty (30) days after the date of its adoption.

This ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on the 9th
day of
February 1981, and was adopted on the 23rd
day of February , 1981, by the following vote, to wit:
