AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING THE PROVISIONS OF SECTION
• 12.20.020 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL
CODE REGARDING APPROPRIATE SIGNS FOR
VEHICLE TOWS FROM PRIVATE PROPERTY
The City Council of the City of Newport Beach DOES
ORDAIN as follows:
SECTION 1. Section 12.20,020 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
"12,20,020 No provision of the Vehicle Code or of this
Chapter for which signs are required shall be enforced against an
alleged violator unless appropriate signs are in place and
sufficiently legible to be seen by an ordinarily observant person
giving notice of such provisions of the traffic laws. No vehicle
may be towed or removed from private property unless that
property is posted with signs as required by Section 22658 of the
Vehicle Code and signs the size and content of which have been
. approved by the Traffic Engineer.
SECTION 2. This Ordinance shall be published once in
the official newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effec-
tive 30 days after the date of its adoption. This Ordinance was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of the City
of Newport Beach held on the loth day of January ,
1983, and was adopted on the 24th day of January ,
1983, by the following vote, to wit:
AYES, COUNCILMEMBERS Hart, Maurer, Strauss, Cox,
Plummer, Heather, Agee
NOES, COUNCILMEMBERS None
ABSENT COUNCILMEMBERS None
