ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING CHAPTER 5.04 OF THE
• NEWPORT BEACH MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO
GENERAL PROVISIONS OF BUSINESS LICENSES AND
REGULATIONS.
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES
ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: Section 5.04.310 of the Newport Beach
Municipal Code is amended to read as follows:
5.04.310 Declaration - Confidential Documents. Any
statement or information filed or gathered pursuant to this Title
shall be deemed to be confidential in character and shall not be
subject to public inspection and shall be kept so that the
contents thereof shall not become known except to persons charged
with the administration of this Title. The foregoing prohibition
• shall not apply to the following information contained in the
Business License Application: business name, business telephone,
business mailing and street address, the exact nature of the
business for which the license is required, owner's name and the
name of the principals, if the business is a partnership or
corporation.
SECTION 2: All other provisions of Chapter 5.04 shall
remain in full force and effect.
SECTION 3: The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk
shall attest to the passage of this Ordinance. The City Clerk
shall cause the same to be published once in the official
newspaper within fifteen (15) days after its adoption. The
• Ordinance shall become effective thirty (30) days from its
adoption.

This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council of the City of Newport Beach, held on the
24th day of March , 1986, and was adopted on
• the 14th day of April , 1986, by following vote, to
wit.
