AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH AMENDING
SECTION 2.36.010 OF THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE PERTAINING TO STATE AID
FOR TRAINING - ADHERENCE TO STANDARDS
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH DOES HEREBY
J%/ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1: Section 2.36.010 of the Newport Beach
qWW Municipal Code is hereby amended to read as follows:
2.36.010 State Aid for Training - Adherence to
Standards. The City Council of the City of
Newport Beach declares that it desires the City to
qualify to receive aid from the State of
California under the provisions of Chapter 1 of
Title 4, Part 4 of the California Penal Code.
Pursuant to Sections 13510 and 13522 of Chapter 1,
the City of Newport Beach, while receiving aid
from the State of California pursuant to said
Chapter 1, will adhere to the standards for
recruitment and training established by the
Commission on Peace Officer Standards and
Training.
Pursuant to Section 13512 of Chapter 1, the
Commission and its representatives may make such

Section 2: The Mayor shall sign and the City Clerk shall
attest to the passage of this ordinance. The City Clerk shall
cause the same to be published once in the official newspaper
within fifteen (15) days after its adoption.
Section 3: This Ordinance was introduced at a regular
meeting of the City Council of the City of Newport Beach held on
the 10th day of October , 1988, and adopted on the 24th day of
October , 1988, by the following vote, to -wit:
