AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF NEWPORT BEACH
AMENDING CHAPTER 15.05 TO THE NEWPORT BEACH
MUNICIPAL CODE TO ADOPT THE UNIFORM
MECHANICAL CODE, 1991 EDITION
• The City ouncil of the City of Newport Beach DOES ORDAIN as follows:

SECTION 1. Chapter 15.05 of the Newport Beach Municipal Code is
adopted to read:

MECHANICAL CODE
Section:
15.05.010 Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code.
15.05.020 Deletion of Chapters 1, 2 and 3.
15.05.010 Adoption of Uniform Mechanical Code. The City Council
adopts and incorporates by reference, as though set forth in full in this Chapter
• the 1991 edition of the "Uniform Mechanical Code ", as published by the
International Conference of Building Officials and the International Association
of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials. The City Council also adopts and
incorporates by reference all applicable portions of Title 24, California Code
of Regulations subject to the changes, and modification set forth in this
chapter.
The various parts of this code including the deletions adopted in this
Chapter, shall constitute and be known as the Newport Beach "Mechanical" Code.
A copy of the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code, printed in code book form shall be
kept on file in the office of the City Clerk.
15.05.020 Deletion of Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the Mechanical Code.
Chapters 1, 2, and 3 of the Mechanical Code are deleted. All administrative
• provisions including enforcement, permit process, fees, and inspections for this
chapter are contained in the Administrative Code under Chapter 15.02.
SECTION 2. That if any section, subsection, sentence, clause or phrase of
this ordinance is, for any reason, held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such
decision shall not affect the validity or constitutionality of the remaining
portions of this ordinance. The City Council hereby declares that it would have

passed this ordinance, and each section, subsection, clause, or phrase hereof,
irrespective of the fact that any one or more sections, subsections, sentences,
clauses, and phrases be declared unconstitutional.
SECTION 3. This Ordinance shall be published once in the official
newspaper of the City, and the same shall be effective thirty (30) days after the
• date of its adoption.
This Ordinance was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council of
Newport Beach held on the 11th day of May , 1992, and was adopted
on the 8th of June 1992, by the following vote to wit:
